Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Tlogomas, Dinoyo, and Sukun sub-districts are projected to become Drug-Free Sub-districts (Bersinar) in 2022. This is an effort to prevent the distribution and abuse of drugs in Malang City.

Initial discussions regarding the proposal were carried out by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) together with the Malang City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the TNI/Polri ranks at the Grand Palace Hotel, Tuesday (8/2/2022).
Head of General Affairs of the Malang City BNN Yudha Wirawan, SE., MM revealed that the Kelurahan Bersinar initiative has been running since 2020. "The pilot project in Tanjungrejo Village in 2020 was then continued in Kotalama and Jodipan in 2021. This year the proposal is in Tlogomas, Dinoyo, and Sukun," explained Yudha.
This initiative is based on the idea that drug issues are becoming more complex over time, so a strategic breakthrough is needed to implement Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2020 concerning the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN) and Narcotics Precursors (PN) for 2020-2024.
Yudha further explained that the proposed choice of Tlogomas, Dinoyo, and Sukun was made by considering eight main indicators and five additional indicators.
"The main indicators include crime cases, criminality, activities to drug couriers. while additional indicators include entertainment locations, boarding houses, poverty rates and social interactions," explained Yudha.
Yudha said that one specific issue that needs to be watched out for is the circulation of drugs among school children and students, considering the characteristics of Malang City as a national-scale educational city.
Therefore, villages/sub-districts as service units that are close to the community need to be at the forefront of preventing drug abuse and illicit trafficking. This is in line with the mandate of Article 105 of Law 35 of 2009, that the community has the right and responsibility to prevent and eradicate drugs.
Head of the Malang City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, Commissioner Danang Yudanto, SE., SIK revealed that throughout 2021 there were 254 drug cases involving 288 suspects. He agreed with the BNN that drug trafficking is increasingly dangerous and prevention cannot rely on just one party.
"From the distribution of age, region to profession, drug abuse is very diverse, proof that its distribution can reach various levels," said Danang.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Iwasbang and Economic, Social, Cultural and Religious Resilience Division of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City, Sukristiyono A., S.Sos., M. AP, said that his party is ready to support efforts to develop shining sub-districts in synergy with the concept of resilience.
"We need to build two aspects, namely family resilience and community resilience," said the man who is familiarly called Pak Kris.
The concept of family resilience includes healthy behavior, social cohesion and family harmony. While community resilience includes awareness of drug laws, participation in the educational environment, the business world, and society. Mr. Kris believes that the concept of a shining village can also be synergized with the concept of a resilient village that has been formed during the pandemic. (ndu/ram)
