Bapenda Boosts Regional Revenue Through Persada Application

Malang, MC – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) continues to strive to increase local revenue (PAD) through taxes. One of the efforts made is to launch an application for transparency of tax values paid by taxpayers.

Head of the Malang City Regional Revenue Agency Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP., M.Si

"Types of taxes such as hotels, restaurants, entertainment, parking, we inevitably use technology. We have a partnership with Bank Jatim to provide e-tax, but the quota is limited, only 500. Meanwhile, the number of businesses in Malang City is in the thousands, dozens of hotels alone, more than 2.500 restaurants, not to mention other businesses. Well, that can't be accommodated, so we created our own application," said the Head of the Malang City Bapenda Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP., M.Si., Wednesday (9/2/2022).

Persada, that's the name, an acronym for Online Restaurant Application and Other Regional Tax Subjects. Handi added that this application also has advantages over e-tax.

"In the application that we created, there is also sales data. For businesses that already have a system and Point of Sales (POS) for those that are still manual. Persada has a feature that displays statistical graphs of sales and purchases, the number of stock items, best-selling items, daily and monthly sales recapitulations, to accounts payable and receivable. This is directly integrated with our control room," he explained.

With this application, Bapenda can monitor in real time the income and taxes that must be paid. "That way it will be more transparent, because the tax is a customer deposit that must be paid by the entrepreneur. We secure the deposit money so that it reaches the regional treasury with the same value paid by the community," he said.

Since its launch at the end of 2021, dozens of businesses have used this application. Bapenda will continue to strive for more business actors to use this application.

"Once 100 percent is achieved, Malang City will be the first region to implement a technology-based tax system for its business actors. We always provide education. We come to the location, we teach how to use it. If the installation is fast. We go directly to the field every day," he concluded. (ari/ram)
