Mayor Sutiaji Appreciates DPRD's Steps to Suppress Covid-19

Malang, MC – After receiving a report that a state civil servant (ASN) in the Malang City DPRD environment was exposed and tested positive for Covid-19, the DPRD suddenly held a swab test, Thursday (10/2/2022). Of the 105 people consisting of members and chairmen of the DPRD, ASN, and contract workers who underwent the swab test, two ASN and one faction staff were detected positive for Covid-19.

Chairman of the Malang City DPRD I Made Riandiana Kartika started the swab test

Malang City DPRD Chairperson I Made Riandiana Kartika said that ASN who were previously declared positive, had mild symptoms and were asymptomatic. The person concerned has undergone self-isolation and received intensive treatment from the Covid-19 Task Force. "Similar rules also apply to three people who took a swab test today and were declared positive and will be continued with a PCR test a few days later.

From this condition, Made rescheduled various agendas. Such as work visits from external parties and canceling the agenda of third parties who use the DPRD building facilities. Likewise, today's plenary meeting with the executive ranks discussing the draft regional regulation on advertising, which was originally going to be held offline, was switched to online.

"So for the time being, we will limit activities that gather masses in the DPRD building, but others will continue to carry out activities online. For ASN and other devices, I have already conveyed to the regional secretary that those who are sick or not feeling well are told to just rest at home and temporarily work from home," he added.

The DPRD immediately sprayed disinfectant in all rooms, tightened the implementation of health protocols again and will hold routine swab tests. "From all of that, it is also an effort to continue to suppress the spread of Covid-19, especially the Omicron variant, and along with the continued increase in Covid-19 in Malang City in the last few days," explained Made.

This was confirmed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji. According to him, what the DPRD did was right so that the transmission of this virus would not continue to spread. "Therefore, I always appeal to the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, especially always wearing masks, because the fastest transmission is through droplets," he said.

The number one person in the Malang City Government added that in the Malang City Government environment, Covid-19 cases can also continue to be minimized. His party routinely conducts swab tests for ASN. "We have prepared a field hospital. For residents who are positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms, they can undergo isolation at home under the supervision of the Covid-19 Task Force," said Sutiaji. (say/ram)
