Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Malang City Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) held a Technical Coordination Meeting (Rakortek) for Verification of the 2023 Development Plan Proposal at the Ijen Suites Hotel, Wednesday (23/2/2022).

The proposals that were verified participatory were the result of the development planning deliberation process (musrenbang) of 832 proposals. Meanwhile, from the main ideas (pokir) of the DPRD, there were 356 proposals.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji appreciated the role of the entire community in the musrenbang process and DPRD members who have put forward their main ideas. The verification process held today with various stakeholders, according to him, is very important so that obstacles during development in 2023 can be minimized.
"From the budget side, God willing, Malang City is one of four regions in East Java that is considered to be heading towards fiscal independence with the strength of local revenue (PAD). What has not been achieved in the regional medium-term development plan (RPJMD), because 2023 is the end of this planning period that we are strengthening. Of course, it is adjusted to the financial capabilities of the region," explained Sutiaji.
Mayor Sutiaji then emphasized six important directions to realize this. Such as conducting detailed verification and aligning the DPRD musrenbang and pokir proposals with the regional development work plan (RPKD).
"There are four strategic agendas for 2023, namely supporting accessibility infrastructure (roads, bridges, public street lighting or PJU), flood management, supporting stunting prevention (clean water, sanitation, and slum areas), and management of public infrastructure, facilities and utilities (PSU) and assets," explained Sutiaji.
The number one person in the Malang City Government also asked his staff to pay attention to the direction of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the procurement process of goods/services, improve the quality of planning, construction and supervision of work and accommodate thematic input.
"No less important is the need to encourage responsive infrastructure for vulnerable groups and gender and strengthen development communication in the current era of digital disruption," he added.
The response was positive, Malang City DPRD Chairman I Made Riandiana Kartika appreciated the performance of the Malang City Government. According to him, community participation has succeeded in maintaining regional income performance amidst the pandemic which is very important for sustainable development.
"The budget performance of Malang City is grade A, meaning it is healthy. Although of course we must realize together that there are limitations in the budget's ability to meet all priorities. This is where the art of budget allocation lies," explained I Made.
Meanwhile, Head of DPUPRPKP Malang City Ir. Diah Ayu Kusumadewi, MT said that verification is intended to improve the quality of planning, improve administrative order and meet the predetermined targets.
"We will verify all proposals according to the mayor's direction so that the priorities and execution can be right on target," explained Diah.
Also present at the event were members of the Malang City DPRD, regional apparatus, sub-district heads, village heads, and the Village Community Empowerment Institution (LPMK) from all villages in Malang City. (ndu/ram)
