Malang City Government Inaugurates Tunggulmas Bridge, Three SMPNs, and Launches 2022 PBB SPPT

Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The people of Malang City can once again enjoy the results of infrastructure development after the inauguration of the Tunggulmas Bridge ( Tunggulwulung-Tlogomas) on Thursday (24/2/2022). In addition, the Malang City Government also inaugurated three State Junior High School (SMPN) buildings and launched the 2022 Land and Building Tax (PBB) Tax Payable Notification Letter (SPPT) in the Tunggulmas Bridge area.

The completion of various infrastructure developments is a special gift to welcome the 108th Anniversary of Malang City on April 1, 2022.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji expressed his gratitude for the completion of various infrastructures. He emphasized and expressed his gratitude for the role of all components of society. "Thousands of thanks to all the people because the development that we are inaugurating today is our role in paying taxes. This is certainly born from literacy that encourages awareness," explained Sutiaji.

Mayor Sutiaji who was present with Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko wearing typical Malang clothing, committed to continuing to encourage fiscal independence and hoped that the composition of local revenue (PAD) could reach 60 percent of total local revenue. So that Malang City can be more accommodating to various development aspirations for the welfare of the community. In 2022, the Malang City Government is targeting PBB to reach IDR 90 billion.

"I appreciate the innovation of the Persada application from the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) to achieve the target. Meanwhile, the Tunggulmas Bridge is part of the development that has long been a dream. Alhamdulillah, it can now be realized. Then the three new SMPNs are certainly expected to bring the community closer to quality educational facilities," added Sutiaji.

Three new SMPN buildings were inaugurated today, namely SMPN 28 on Jalan Sadewo Number 39 Polehan, SMPN 29 on Jalan Kolonel Sugiono XI Number 24 Gadang, and SMPN 30 next to the Mulyorejo Terminal.

"I am sure that these three schools will contribute greatly to stimulating equal access to education as part of continuing to push the Human Development Index (HDI). Where in 2021 it has reached 82,04 or the second highest in East Java. The ultimate goal is of course the formation of superior human resources as capital towards a prosperous and dignified Malang City," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Tunggulmas Bridge, which has been a long-standing dream, is now ready to present an alternative route to improve connectivity in the western part of the city. The total length of the bridge, built with a budget of Rp39 billion, is around 314 meters, consisting of a main span of the bridge of 127 meters and a connecting path on the side of Jalan Tlogomas and the side of Jalan Saxophone of 187 meters.

Before closing his speech, Sutiaji left a message to continue to foster a culture of appreciating the services of others. "Achievements should not make you arrogant. This success does not only belong to Sutiaji-Edi, but there are services from many parties from the beginning of the idea and we must remember to appreciate it," said Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, Malang City Regional Secretary Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT said that all the infrastructure that was inaugurated and the launch of the 2022 PBB SPPT were in order to encourage the revival of development after the Covid-19 pandemic. "The leadership's high expectations for these various activities are certainly not merely ceremonial, but are oriented towards outcomes that benefit the community," said Erik.

In the event which was also attended by the ranks of the Malang City Forkopimda, the Malang City DPRD and representatives of various elements of society, social assistance was also provided for children from underprivileged families around the bridge area. (ndu/ram)
