Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) plans to implement face-to-face learning (PTM) for schools in Malang City. The plan is for PTM to start on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, SE., MM, gave a press statement to the media crew.

Head of Malang City Education and Culture Office Suwarjana, SE., MM revealed that the plan is that if there are no obstacles, PTM in Malang City will be held again on March 7, 2022. The mechanism is divided into two groups, for each class at 07.00-11.00 WIB, the first group with 50 percent of students. While the second group, enters at 12.00-15.00 WIB.

"At 11.00-12.00 WIB, disinfectant spraying was carried out so that before it was used for learning again at 12.00-15.00 WIB, the conditions were sterile," explained Suwarjana, Friday (4/3/2022).

This PTM plan was carried out after going through various studies with all parties. Where online learning systems are considered still ineffective. Because online learning is still not optimal in terms of parental supervision during the teaching and learning process.

"The results of our survey, 99 percent of students and 85 percent of parents want PTM learning to be carried out again," explained Suwarjana.

Even so, Suwarjana added that he was still monitoring how the permission from the parents would be. Whether the parents give permission or not, currently a Google Form is still being created first.

"Currently, the overall development of Covid-19 in Malang City continues to decline along with good handling by the Malang City Government together with the community. In addition, children aged 6-11 years have also undergone 100 percent vaccination," he continued.

Therefore, he said, herd immunity has been formed in children in Malang City. So it is considered feasible to carry out PTM. However, the public is still advised to obey health protocols.

"If there are students or teachers who are exposed to Covid-19, it will not spread. Testing, tracing and treatment (3T) must be carried out," he concluded. (cah/ram)
