Malang, MC – Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji held an official audience with the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tugu Aneka Usaha (Tunas) of Malang City and the Economic, Infrastructure and Natural Resources Section (PISDA) at Malang City Hall, Thursday (10/3/2022).

Mayor Sutiaji said that all related parties must have an understanding of this plan. The business plan for various businesses needs to be agreed upon first, then the next plan can be discussed. The hope is that with this, it will not only be profit-oriented. But also become a catalyst for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"I want in the future, MSMEs can be empowered more. Through the curation process, how many are independent, which ones need to be fostered. We help find a market," said Sutiaji.
Sutiaji said that his party is very supportive. The owner of the highest seat in the Malang City Government also reminded the importance of collaboration and synergy. Sutiaji also provided input to choose the right time to implement this program.
"Later we can discuss further how the process is, food prices are already out of control especially approaching Ramadan and Eid. Don't let there be any players. Hopefully the target is clear and precise. Don't let it go to waste," he said.
Furthermore, Sutiaji hopes that the PISDA Section can also work together with Bulog or the banking sector to realize this cheap food program.
Head of PISDA Malang City Ir. Yayuk Hermiati, MH submitted a proposal related to the plan for a subsidized food program. This program targets the underprivileged people of Malang City. The purpose of this program is to help underprivileged people to obtain food at low prices.
"So that those who are less fortunate can meet their nutritional needs and support food security and control food inflation," said Yayuk.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Perumda Tunas Malang City, Dodot Tri Widodo, delivered a presentation related to the proposal and plan to utilize Malang City Government assets for warehouses/cold storage.
"Warehouses play an important role in the supply chain and distribution of goods, especially for storage logistics. This warehousing business is also now very much needed and has good potential," said Dodot.
Dodot detailed several advantages of this warehousing business, namely profit for Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), supply stability, price stability at the upstream and downstream levels. This warehousing can also facilitate MSMEs for storage needs.
Thus, he said, it will certainly create economic growth. The existence of a warehousing area in Malang City will also facilitate the distribution of goods. There are three proposed areas, namely Blimbing, Arjowinangun, and Bumiayu.
Also present at the event were representatives from the Regional Finance and Asset Agency (BKAD), Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Inspectorate, Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Agency (Diskopindag), and Food Security and Agriculture Agency (Dispangtan). (ari/ram)
