Malang City Government's Concern for the Elderly

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) continues to pay more attention to the elderly, so that they can continue to live healthily and decently. In recent times, there has been at least around 1.000 additional elderly people. From this figure, one proof is that the standard of living and health of the elderly is very good.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko when reviewing the plenary service event for the elderly at the RW 1 Hall, Bakalan Krajan Village, Sukun District, Thursday (17/3/2022). According to him, this health service is something that is very important for the elderly and must be carried out continuously.

"Health services like this are the front line and are one of the priority programs of the Malang City Government. With this service, the health conditions of the elderly can be detected to anticipate possible health problems. Such as cholesterol, blood pressure or other diseases suffered," added the bespectacled Prita.

The man who is often called Bung Edi added that in the future his party will also optimize again so that these elderly people can live independently. To realize this, one of them is that these elderly people must live healthily, by routinely checking their health at the nearest health center and consuming nutritious food.

Furthermore, Mr. Edi said, through mothers in the Resilient and Siaga sub-districts to support the health of these elderly, such as through regular healthy exercise. "By diligently checking health, diligently exercising and eating healthy food, efforts to create independent elderly will be realized well," he said.

At this moment, Bung Edi also appealed to the elderly to immediately get the third dose of vaccination or booster, to reduce the risk of them being exposed to Covid-19. "The elderly are also a priority vaccination program, because they are classified as people who are vulnerable to being exposed to Covid-19," he concluded. (say/ram)
