"Thank you to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for continuing to provide literacy to the public regarding the importance of setting aside assets for old age security," said Sutiaji.

Furthermore, Mayor Sutiaji suggested that all companies include their employees in insurance such as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. "It is the company's obligation and the employee's right to be insured," he said.

"I hope that the public can increase awareness of the importance of insurance. With the intention to help others, it is also possible, maybe for us it is not used, we just intend it for others. Intend to help each other. Because many of our brothers and sisters are still in need," he invited.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Malang City, Imam Santoso expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the Mayor of Malang and his entourage to stop by the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Office. "We have only occupied this building for about three weeks after being renovated. We also combined this activity with the symbolic handover of work accident death insurance and scholarships, then there was the handover of membership cards for RT and RW administrators in Malang City," he said.

Imam also stated that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is required to protect people who have economic activities. His party sees that RT/RW also plays a role, an activity that has risks. "So we are ready to protect RT/RW administrators if there is a disaster in RT/RW activities. It has been implemented throughout Indonesia, in Malang City, only about 20 percent of all RT/RW administrators," he said.

For information, currently the number of Malang City residents accommodated by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is around 171 thousand, namely wage earners while for the non-wage earner category around 26 thousand. "We hope this can expand because our task is to protect as widely as possible the community that has economic activities. For companies or agencies in Malang City that are members, it is already around 90 percent," he said.

According to him, the majority of companies that have not registered are due to lack of information about the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program. "But we continue to try, from the data we have, we write to participants who have not registered, we visit them so that they can register their employees in this program," he said.

On this occasion, BPJS Employment compensation was symbolically handed over to the heirs. This handover was represented by the Chairperson of TP PKK Malang City Widayati Sutiaji to the wife and children of the late Moh. Sodiq. He was one of the BPJS Employment participants who was a private employee and died due to a work accident.
