Ahead of Ramadan, Joint Officers Control Social Diseases

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Two weeks before the month of Ramadan, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) continues to conduct operations to maintain public order and security (Trantibum). The operation involved the ranks of the TNI/Polri from the Malang City Kodim 0833 and the Malang City Police targeting the enforcement of health protocols and public diseases (pekat).

Officers conducted checks on a number of people who were caught in the raid

As a result, officers found violations of operating hours at two modern shop locations, suspected covert prostitution and immoral acts that netted 39 people, consisting of 19 extramarital couples and one woman, as well as violations of liquor trade in the operation held on March 17-18, 2022.

Head of the Trantibum Division of Malang City Satpol PP, Rahmat Hidayat explained that officers found a number of pieces of evidence at two lodging or daily boarding houses that were raided, including contraceptives and conversations via applications that were suspected of being online prostitution transactions.

"Of the 18 unmarried couples, the average age is still teenagers, 18-22 years old, and they come from Malang Raya. From the confession and examination, six of them are suspected of conducting online practices with rates ranging from IDR 500 thousand to IDR 800 thousand per date. All were immediately secured to the office and charged with a minor offense," said Rahmat.

Rahmat added that on average, teenagers who were caught gave reasons for doing so due to economic factors, being influenced by the rampant free association amidst technological advances and coming from broken homes.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji and the Chairperson of TP PKK Widayati Sutiaji who also monitored the process of regulation also had the opportunity to provide guidance to the teenagers.

"We are concerned, that's why we told them to remember that the future is still long, they must be careful in their associations so as not to fall into despicable acts. Remember that parents have worked hard to raise and send them to school," said Sutiaji.

All couples caught in the operation are required to report three times a week and their identity cards will be confiscated.

Meanwhile, in the raid of class B and C liquor, 470 bottles were secured together with customs officers from three cafes on Jalan Sudimoro and one cafe on Jalan Kahuripan. Meanwhile, class A liquor was secured by Satpol PP Malang City as many as 300 bottles. (ndu/ram)
