Semarang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo) won an award at the 7th PR INDONESIA Awards (PRIA) 2022 in the regional government category with the profile video subcategory at the Po Hotel, Semarang City, Friday (24/3/2022) evening.

Head of the Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) of Malang City, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos, revealed that this achievement was the result of hard work that had been carried out together.
According to him, this achievement is one part of the embodiment of the spirit built by the Malang City Government. Where it also became the theme raised on the 108th Anniversary of Malang City, namely Collaboration, Acceleration and Rising Together.
"Thank you to everyone for our hard work together, and to all parties who helped, supported and collaborated. Hopefully this can be a spirit and motivation for us to continue working and creating," he said.
Communication is important for city government activities to run conducively. Communication is able to create a conducive atmosphere amidst religious, cultural and ethnic diversity. In addition, communication is one of the important points in realizing smart branding in the smart city concept.
"Although it has shown positive developments and achievements, there is still homework that needs to be improved. So it is expected to provide motivation to continue to improve and strengthen collaboration, acceleration so that we can rise together," he continued.
The 2022 PRIA Awards, which is the 7th event, is the most comprehensive annual competition for public relations (PR) practitioners throughout the country. According to the Founder and CEO of PR INDONESIA, Asmono Wikan, the PRIA Awards are part of PR INDONESIA's commitment to appreciating superior PR performance from corporations, ministries, local governments, and institutions throughout Indonesia.
"PRIA Awards emphasizes how important the communication function carried out by PR practitioners is. Through structured, systematic and relevant communication agendas for the target audience, PR contributes greatly to strengthening the reputation of an organization or corporation," explained the man who is also a Member of the Press Council for the 2022-2025 period.
The previous judging process was carried out on February 16-25 involving 17 judges who are experts and professionals from among senior PR practitioners, leading journalists, senior academics to PR Gurus. They are Maria Wongsonagoro (PR Indonesia Gurus), Suharjo Nugroho (Chairman of the Indonesian Public Relations Company Association), Fardilla Astari (Director of Communications of the Rajawali Foundation), Titis Widyatmoko (Editor in Chief of Brilio.net), and others.
"This year, in addition to the increase in the number of participants, the increase in the quality of participants has also increased and is felt on the measurement side. So participants are increasingly aware of the importance of creating content that is useful and also relevant to their audience. Participants create content with careful planning and attractive design. The content is weighty," said Brilio.net Editor in Chief Titis Widyatmoko.
Malang City Government is one of the award winners among several central, provincial, regional and corporate government agencies. The central government agencies that received awards were the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and others. The provincial government agencies that also received awards were the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the West Java Provincial Government.
Meanwhile, the local governments that achieved achievements in this event include the Semarang City Government, Surabaya City Government, and the Yogyakarta Special Region Government. In addition, there are corporations such as Bank Indonesia, Financial Services Authority, Pertamina, Telkom Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Astra International, Unilever, Danone and others.
A number of universities also received awards at the PRIA Awards, namely the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, and others. (eka/ram)
