Holding Pekat Operation, Officers Net 34 Street People

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Approaching the month of Ramadan, personnel from the Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the TNI-Polri, the Social Service for Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos-P3AP2KB) and the Health Service continue to intensify operations against social ills. This time, on Friday (25/3/2022) night until early morning, targeting vagrants and buskers.

As a result, four punks, 18 homeless and beggars, and two clowns were secured by officers. In addition, officers also secured 10 buskers who were sleeping on the terrace of the shop.

This was conveyed by the Head of Public Order and Security of the Malang City Satpol PP, Rahmat Hidayat on Saturday (26/3/2022). After being secured and recorded, he added, they were tested with antigen swabs and the results were all negative for Covid-19.

Furthermore, Rahmat said that those caught in this operation were partly accommodated in Kampung Topeng in Kedungkandang and some were returned to their home areas. "The majority of them are from outside Malang City, such as Cirebon, Kediri, and Yogyakarta," he explained.

Operations like this, said Rahmat, will continue to be intensified. In addition to enforcing regional regulations, later during the month of Ramadan, Muslims will be more comfortable in carrying out their worship. "We will also hold similar operations during the day," he concluded. (say/ram)
