Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – As many as 12 micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) communities in Malang City, exhibited their unique and creative products in the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) for the 2023 Fiscal Year at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Monday (28/3/2022).

In this event held by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the theme was 'Strengthening the Creative Industry Through Digital Transformation with Integrated Infrastructure Support.'
Starting from craft products, painting, fashion, culinary to eco products appear beautifully lined up on the rows of exhibition tables. CKPM, one of the exhibition participants displays a number of products with economic value from recycled used diapers. Meanwhile, exhibition participants from the Mbois Bunulrejo community present beverage products, such as telang processed products, mendol sticks, tempeh chips to batik.
"Our superior products are various batiks because Bunulrejo wants to become a batik center. Our community consists of around 90 business actors, 20 of whom are batik craftsmen. We do intend to empower the community," said Alfi, the head of the Mbois Bunulrejo community.
Head of Bappeda Dwi Rahayu, SH., M.Hum said that the exhibition was an initiative to present added value in the musrenbang event. Where musrenbang has been started since the implementation of thematic musrenbang and cross-regional forums last February.
"We want it to not only be a ceremonial musrenbang, but also to showcase the unique potential of Malang City in line with the theme of the 2023 Fiscal Year RKPD which focuses on creativity," said Dwi.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, expressed his optimism that the economy and the joints of life in Malang City will soon recover to pre-pandemic levels. "Our economy, which in 2020 contracted quite a bit to minus two, thank God has now shot up to 4,21 percent or increased by more than 6 percentage points," said Sutiaji.
The Mayor of Malang who loves to read appreciates the role of various elements of society including MSMEs who have proven to be resilient in the midst of the pandemic. He invited all parties to continue to strengthen the role and utilization of local products to accelerate the revival together.
"The President emphasized the need to strengthen the use of local products a few days ago. Malang City is ready to support. Last year, the value and number of transactions of the Malang City Government through Jatim Bejo as an e-commerce platform that supports local products were the highest in East Java. God willing, it will reach more than IDR 14 billion," he concluded.
In addition to the UMKM exhibition, the implementation of the 2023 RKPD Musrenbang was also colored by the collaborative role of various community groups. Among them were free health checks from Lavalette Hospital, Hermina Hospital and Persada Hospital, the performance of the elderly music group 'Dewi Godong 19' from Purwantoro, a typical Malang dance from teenagers and translators for disabled brothers and sisters.
