Starfruit, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to improve the skills of the youth of Malang City, the Youth, Sports and Tourism Service (Disporapar) of Malang City held batik training for 69 youth at Batik Blimbing, Jalan Candi Jago Number 6, Malang City, Wednesday (30/3/2022).
Young Policy Analyst of Malang City's Youth and Sports Agency, Khabibah, said that batik training for young people in Malang City was given to develop insight. This is part of the coordination, synchronization and implementation activities to increase the competitive capacity of young district/city cadres in 2022.
"This activity will be a provision for young people in Malang City for batik art. We hope that with this activity, we can invite young people to love batik more," explained Khabibah.
Moreover, in Malang City, currently it has a typical Malang batik that is being worked on by batik craftsmen on Jalan Candi Jago Number 6, Malang City. According to him, by inviting young people to learn batik directly in this place, it is hoped that it can really be utilized by the participants.
"We hope that from the many young people who are currently learning batik, they can directly pursue batik as a business. If that can be realized, of course it will be very good for the preservation of batik, especially Malangan batik," said Khabibah.
Meanwhile, the owner of a typical Malang batik business, Wiwik Niarti, admitted that she was happy that many young people wanted to learn batik. So far, she said, there have been many orders for typical Malang batik. Due to limited manpower, not all orders received can be fulfilled.
"Not only this time, when studying later after the training if there are those who want to work with us I am very open," said Wiwik. (cah/ram)
