That was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after the 108th anniversary of Malang City on Friday (1/4/2022) at the local city hall. However, according to him, in the future there is still homework and work programs that must be completed immediately, especially during this year.
He gave examples of flooding, traffic jams, damaged roads, reducing poverty and unemployment rates. So that state civil servants (ASN) as servants of the community must continue to work hard to provide the best and never be satisfied with what has been achieved so far.
In addition, the bespectacled man said, several focuses and targets that must be realized during 2022-2023 are public awareness of health, improving the economy, strengthening the creative economy, increasing the number of tourist visits and strengthening the economy on a macro scale.
"To realize all of that is certainly not easy. So in addition to hard work, better collaboration is also needed with a number of parties, such as the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and the private sector," said Mayor Sutiaji.
From the various efforts, the number one person in the Malang City Government is optimistic that he can realize what is his performance target. In accordance with the theme carried on this anniversary, namely 'Collaboration, Acceleration and Rise Together,' then this optimism of revival is reflected in the revival of economic growth.
He further said that the economy in Malang City, which had contracted at -2,26 percent in 2020, is now growing and soaring to 4,21 percent in 2021, and even surpassing the economic growth rate of East Java Province which is at 3,57 percent.
"The realization of local revenue (PAD) in 2020 was IDR 491 billion, now it has increased to IDR 603 billion in 2021, along with the continued increase in the human development index (HDI) in 2021 to 82,04. So with better collaboration and acceleration, in the future a number of sectors in Malang City will improve significantly," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
