Malang City Government Takes Action Against Takjil Sellers Who Violate Rules

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through joint officers, namely the Transportation Service, Malang City Police, Malang City Military District Command 0833, and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) held a joint operation to secure, ward off and control the takjil market in the Malang City area, Sunday (3/4/2022).

Transportation Agency regulates traffic and takjil sellers

Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency Heru Mulyono, S.IP., MT said that his party together with joint officers are trying to regulate takjil sellers. So that the road or sidewalk is not used as a place to sell.

"If the road or sidewalk is used as a place to sell, it is possible that traffic congestion will occur," said Heru.

In addition, he said, selling on the sidewalk is also against the rules. Therefore, in addition to officers from the Transportation Agency who participated in this operation, it was also followed by the Malang City Satpol PP. Because taking action against street vendors is the task and function of Satpol PP as enforcers of regional regulations.

Meanwhile, the areas combed by joint officers include Pasar Bareng, Jalan Surabaya, in front of the East Java Cultural Arts Park (TKBJ), around Mergosono, around Muharto, Jalan Sulfat, around Merjosari, Pasar Sukun, and around Jalan Dieng.

Heru Mulyono asked the public not to sell takjil in just any place. So that no one is harmed, in this case road users. According to him, the Malang City Government does not prohibit people from selling or seeking sustenance through takjil. But the location of the sale must really not be a location prohibited by the government.

"Malang City Government does not prohibit residents from selling, but what we prohibit is selling that violates the rules. Especially the location of the sale," he concluded. (ram)
