72 years later, this depot located not far from Malang City Square still has its own fans. "They say that the first time in Malang there was es campur was here. Now there are many. The specialty here is that our es campur has black tape which is rarely found in other es campur," said Afni Nafidha, the current manager of Depot Es Taloen.

"Since the beginning of its establishment, Depot Es Taloen has occupied this building, there have been no significant renovations, the building also maintains its shape, we only change the layout," he continued.

In one bowl of mixed ice there are various fillings, namely black grass jelly, dawet or cendol, sugar palm fruit, pineapple, pearl seeds, and black sticky rice. Then given fresh milk, syrup and sweetened condensed creamer, and of course shaved ice. Not only refreshing, the mixed ice served at this depot is also pleasing to the eye. The colorful various fillings with shaved ice on top really make customers impatient to enjoy it, especially on a hot afternoon. The price is quite reasonable, a portion of mixed ice is only IDR 13.000,00.

Afni said that initially this depot only sold mixed ice. However, over time, various other ice variants were also sold at this depot such as fruit ice, mocha ice, teler ice, and others. Not only ice, this depot also provides various foods such as noodle dumplings, rujak cingur, and meatballs.

This woman in a hijab said that her depot will be even busier when the holiday season arrives. "Yesterday, there were people from Surabaya, Jakarta too. Those who used to be here and then live outside the city usually stop by here, they say they have a reunion. That's why last Lebaran we didn't close because we served people from outside the city," she said.

Nawak Ngalam, who wants to taste this legendary mixed ice or other menu variants can go directly to the Talun area, precisely at Jalan Arif Rahman Hakim No. 2, Malang City.
