Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) held a flag ceremony to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2022 in the yard of Malang City Hall, Friday (13/5/2022).
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, in his speech conveyed and invited all elements to jointly lead the recovery and revival, moving for 'Independent Learning.' As the theme of National Education Day 2022 this year, namely 'Lead the Recovery, Move for Independent Learning.'
Sutiaji read the speech of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbud) Nadiem Anwar Makarim who said that the Independent Curriculum, which began as an effort to help teachers and students during the pandemic, has proven to be able to reduce the impact of learning loss. Now the Independent Curriculum has been implemented in more than 140.000 educational units throughout Indonesia. This means that hundreds of thousands of Indonesian children have learned in a much more enjoyable and liberating way.
"Our children also no longer need to worry about graduation tests because the national assessment that we are currently using is not intended to 'punish' teachers or students. But as a reflection material so that teachers continue to be motivated to learn. So that principals are motivated to improve the quality of their schools to be more inclusive and free from the threat of the three major sins of education," he explained.
The same spirit has also been heard from artists and cultural actors, who are now starting to rise again, starting to work again with more freedom. He added that education was chosen as one way to change Indonesia. According to experts, through education will change the entity of the nation and the future of the nation.
"Malang City has started with character education. Currently, global threats are in front of all of us. We want Indonesia to have an identity, want Indonesia to be far more advanced than other countries, and want Indonesia to become the world's horizon in all things. But all of that is just a dream, which can determine all of us, of course through education," said Sutiaji.
Mayor Sutiaji invited all elements to fill Indonesia by carving out their potential, improving and optimizing their identity by becoming children of the nation guided by diversity. Unity and togetherness are the main spearheads to fight for the nation's identity. "The task of educating is not only in educational institutions, but the task of all of us, the entire Indonesian nation. Education starts from the smallest scope, namely the family and professional educational institutions, both formal and non-formal and informal," he continued.
In the reflection of the 2022 National Education Day commemoration, Sutiaji hopes that everyone can educate themselves, their families, and those around them. "We must dream that Indonesia is able to rise amidst the global life of the world, it is certainly capable and certainly can because we have extraordinary local wisdom," he said.
