Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) carried out socialization in the context of arranging the Kayutangan Heritage Zone III area in the office hall on May 17-18, 2022.

Head of DPUPRPKP Malang City Ir. Diah Ayu Kusumadewi, MT in her presentation emphasized the importance of synergy between parties for the smooth running of development. "We held the socialization so that all related parties know and at the same time collect input so that the future development of Kayutangan will be more beneficial," explained Diah.
The construction of Kayutangan Heritage Zone III will begin at the end of May and is targeted for completion at the end of November 2022. The work to be carried out includes the arrangement of pedestrians, channels, andesite and asphalt.
Pedestrians in zone III will be widened by the Malang City Government in various ways with a road benefit space width of 12 meters so that it is more comfortable for visitors. Complete with a disabled guide path, drainage inlet and infiltration well, underground cable ducting system, and street furniture. The relocation of fiber optic cables along with the completion of the ducting infrastructure has also been emphasized to providers to prepare and align the schedule so that the Kayutangan landscape is neater and more beautiful.
What is unique, he said, is that the arrangement of the area also utilizes the superior local product, sanitair klaseman, as an important element of street furniture along the pedestrian. "There are 26 sanitair chairs. Later, the pedestrian will also be beautified with 71 ball-shaped bollards and 64 pole bollards in the crossing area. God willing, this is part of the city government's support for local industrial centers," said Diah.
The use of local products in this development was appreciated by representatives of DPRD members from Commission C and the Klojen electoral district who also attended the socialization event. In the future, the hope to further synergize physical development and benefits for the local economy, especially the Kayutangan community, is one of the aspirations conveyed by a number of community elements who were present and will be responded to positively together with the regional apparatus in charge.
Furthermore, in order to reduce disruption to the activities of people passing by and local business actors, Diah explained that the construction stages are divided into three main stages. Starting from the arrangement of the pedestrian on the north side from BRI to Sarinah, then continuing with the arrangement of the pedestrian on the south side from Gang IV to Hotel Richie. Finally, it has just entered the finalization stage of the arrangement of andesite in the area around Taman Chairil Anwar.
"Stage I and II do not require any area closure. For stage III when the new andesite arrangement is in September and we will still discuss the traffic engineering at the Traffic Forum. The spirit is of course to be as minimally disruptive as possible," added Diah.
Likewise, the Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub), Heru Mulyono, S.IP., MT, added that his party, through the Traffic Forum, continues to refine the traffic management plan both during the third stage of development and after the physical development of the Kayutangan Heritage area is completed.
"We have been preparing the study since 2021. The arrangement will not be just one road, but a regional traffic system. Starting from PLN, to the town square area, Kahuripan, Majapahit and the surrounding areas. We have also planned parking points. Among them are on the former DLH land, and several office parking pockets in Kayutangan," explained Heru.
The socialization held in stages over two days was also attended by related regional apparatus, Commission C DPRD and DPRD members from the Klojen electoral district, police ranks, local sub-districts, residents and business actors around the area, pokdarwis, representatives of the Kayutangan Church, community leaders, and telecommunications providers who have assets in the Kayutangan Area. As a follow-up to the input submitted in the socialization, it will be discussed in a follow-up coordination meeting forum and field review. (ndu/ram)
