Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, revealed that the spatial planning law mandates that urban areas must have green open space (RTH) of 20 percent of the area. Where for Malang City itself, RTH currently still reaches 10 percent.

"The rapid development of the city has a huge impact on the existence of green open space and we cannot avoid it because it is a demand," he explained.

Therefore, he said, a joint commitment is needed for policy makers. Because what is decided will greatly affect the quality of the environment. The Malang City Government in this case continues to educate the public that RTH is not only the responsibility of the government. But also the responsibility of the community.

"For this reason, the Malang City Government is currently continuing to invite the public to build environmental awareness," he stressed.

When planting, the community is invited to intend to give alms to the environment by planting trees. Intended to give alms of oxygen so that it can be useful for nature and useful for life.

"To make it happen, Malang City cannot do it alone. But it must also work together with other regions including Batu City and Malang Regency," he explained.

Shekinah Multimedia Ministries Director Pastor Marcus Rumampuk said he was happy to be able to have a direct dialogue with the Malang City Government regarding environmental love activities. Including with the Deputy Mayor of Malang who is very active in doing environmental love by planting trees.

"We as the people of Malang really miss the past. Where Malang City was so cold, when the morning fog fell and oxygen was so abundant. Malang City is not ungkep," said Marcus.

Markus invites the community to do more environmental activities, including by encouraging tree planting. With a green environment, it is hoped that everyone living in Malang City can be more comfortable and healthier. Because they breathe in so much oxygen. (cah/ram)
