Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Enjoying the Kayutangan tourist area, it turns out, is not limited to the corridor of Jalan Basuki Rahmat alone. It seems necessary to also explore and enjoy the culinary potential in the alleys in the Kayutangan area.

In one of the alleys, precisely in Gang 2, Nawak Ngalam, you can find one of the legendary culinary that has been around since 1958, namely Warung Wak Nap.
This stall stands in a simple building, on the right side of the road not far from the entrance gate of Gang 2. The yellow paint that decorates the entire building means that Nawak Ngalam will have no trouble finding the location of this stall even though it is located in an alley.
Warung Wak Nap serves several food menus, including soto, rawon, pecel rice and mixed rice. The favorite of customers at this stall is the tripe soto served warm on a plate. To accompany the soto, Nawak Ngalam will be served various side dishes that can be chosen by yourself, including potato croquettes and also various satays such as beef satay and intestine satay.
To be able to enjoy these dishes, Nawak Ngalam only needs to prepare funds of Rp. 15.000,00 to Rp. 25.000,00 for each portion of food.
Yanti, the owner of the stall, said that she is the third generation to manage the stall. Initially, her grandmother started the business in 1958 in the same location. The business was then continued to be managed by her mother and aunt, and now Yanti continues the family's hereditary business.
"To cook all these foods, my mother still takes direct action. So all these foods still use the same original recipe from my grandmother who started selling in 1958," he said.
In a day, on average, he can spend 3 kg of rice to sell to his customers, most of whom are employees from offices around Kayutangan. Not only active employees who faithfully come to his shop, but also employees who have retired or who have moved, often come back to his shop.
"Before the pandemic, I could sell up to 7 kg of rice. But because of this pandemic, I have to reduce it because customers have also decreased," he added.
Warung Wak Nap is open every day from seven in the morning until noon, and closes when the dishes are finished. However, if you want to enjoy all the dishes completely, it is better to come before 12.00 WIB, because after that time, be prepared to be willing to miss out on some of the menus. (ayu/ram)
