Kayutangan Heritage Village Officially Reopened

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Trying to recover after two years of being sluggish due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, residents of the Kayutangan Heritage area of ​​Malang City held a halalbihalal and Riyayan Nang Kajoetangan gathering event, Sunday (29/5/2022) which also marked the official opening of the Kayutangan Heritage Village area to become a tourist destination in Malang City again.

In this event, the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and Kayutangan Heritage residents themselves emphasized their readiness to once again welcome general tourists to visit the Kayutangan Heritage area.

Previously, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kayutangan Heritage Village area was limited to only accepting guests who had made reservations to visit the area.

The Head of the Kayutangan Heritage Village Pokdarwis, Mila, said that the Riyayan Nang Kajoetangan event is a routine event that is always held by the Kayutangan Pokdarwis, and this year is the third year of the activity.

"The Riyayan Nang Kajoetangan event is intended to foster friendship and a meeting place with all relevant stakeholders to collaborate in developing tourism potential in Malang City," explained Mila.

With the beautification of several areas in the main corridor of Kayutangan, residents and the Kayutangan Heritage Pokdarwis hope that the Kayutangan Heritage Village area inside can also be explored and beautified in order to advance the potential and help advance the welfare of residents around Kayutangan.

Meanwhile, Head of Destination and Tourism Industry Division of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Malang City, Lita Irawati, SH, M.AP expressed her appreciation for the holding of this halalbihalal and silaturahmi event. She hopes that events like this will not stop only in the Kayutangan Heritage Village area, but will also take place in other thematic villages in Malang City.

"I feel amazing, that after this pandemic began to decline, tourism potential began to rise again. I hope that Disporapar and thematic villages in Malang City can join hands and innovate together so that tourism in Malang City will advance," he concluded. (ayu/yon)
