Malang (malangkota.go.id) – To further maximize and explore the potential of regional taxes, various efforts have been made by the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Malang City, East Java. Not only intensifying tax operations to give stern warnings to taxpayers who are in arrears in paying their taxes, but Bapenda is also intensively conducting socialization on the importance of paying taxes.
As on Monday (13/6/2022), Bapenda held a socialization of the use of online transaction recording devices (e-tax) at a hotel on Simpang Ijen Street, Malang City. This socialization was carried out for three days and was intended for around 480 hotel and restaurant business actors who did not yet have electronic tax devices.
After the socialization event, the Head of Bapenda Malang City Dr. Handi Priyanto., AP., M.Si said that these business actors must first know what the benefits of e-tax are, before officers from Bapenda come to their place to install the device. "In addition to continuing to boost tax potential, through this program, it is also to help business actors in tax reporting," he added.
On the other hand, the bespectacled man said, the most important thing is, later there will be transparency with business actors regarding the amount of tax that must be paid to the government or regional treasury. "Business actors do not need to be anxious or afraid, because Bapenda officers will only collect taxes according to transactions and the amount is only 10 percent," Handi said.
For the installation and procurement of this device, Bapenda collaborated with Bank Jatim and embedded a device created by Bapenda's ranks, namely the Persada application. Handi said that until now the device has been installed in almost 600 business actors. "We will later install it in all potential tax sources, such as hotels, restaurants, parking lots and entertainment venues. The number could be more than 3.000 business places," he explained.
For information, the target tax revenue charged to Bapenda this year is Rp606 billion. Until early June, Handi said, his party has recorded Rp201,8 billion. Of the 9 tax sectors, 3 of them until the second quarter have exceeded the target/surplus.
"For restaurant tax, from the target of Rp29,4 billion, there has been a surplus of Rp11 billion. Parking tax, a surplus of Rp478 million from the target of Rp24 billion and entertainment tax from the target of Rp3 billion has been realized at Rp3,2 billion," he explained.
This socialization is claimed to be very beneficial for business actors. As conveyed by one of the restaurant managers in the Lowokwaru District area, Rosy Husna, who was also a participant in this event. According to this woman in a hijab, she finally knows what the function and benefits of this e-tax are.
"I think this electronic tax device is very much needed and will help business actors. So that there is transparency between taxpayers and tax collectors, and the amount of tax deposited into the regional treasury according to the transaction. However, I also hope that the taxes paid later will also be used as well as possible to support development programs in Malang City," he concluded. (say/ram)
