Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government continues to strive to reduce the unemployment rate in Malang City. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2021, the number of workers in Malang City was 482.172 people, consisting of 453.630 workers and 46.542 unemployed. The open unemployment rate (TPT) increased by 0,04 percent to 9,65 percent compared to last year.
This is what underlies the Malang City Government through the Malang City Manpower, Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office (Disnaker PMPTSP) in collaboration with the Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) to develop an application. Through the Job Fair Active application, the Malang City Government seeks to facilitate job seekers to find out about job vacancies and companies to find workers.
This time, the Malang City Government held a Technical Guidance for the Malang City Active Job Fair Application which was intended for companies. At least 35 company representatives in Malang City participated in the activity held at the Savana Hotel, Thursday (23/6/2022).
In her speech, Plt. Disnaker PMPTSP Malang City Siti Mahmudah, SE., MM revealed that the unemployment problem is often caused by the information gap between job seekers and companies. This makes it difficult for companies to get workers according to the qualifications that have been set. Likewise, not all job seekers can fill the vacancies offered.
"The Job Fair Active application is expected to be an alternative solution for absorbing workers during the Covid-19 pandemic which has not ended yet. This is also to encourage the participation of companies and the workforce in expanding employment opportunities for Malang City residents, and can improve public service functions to support efforts to reduce the unemployment rate (TPT)," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Informatics Application Division (Aptika) of Malang City Communication and Information Office Moh. Sidik, ST revealed that the purpose of holding this technical guidance is to introduce the Job Fair Active application to companies.
"The goal is to increase company participation in job fair activities through the Job fair Active application. The hope is that companies can recruit workers or employees who match the qualifications and needs of the company," said Sidik.
As is known, through the Job fair Active application, not only job seekers are facilitated. However, companies looking for workers can also take advantage of this application. Through this application, companies looking for workers can enter job vacancies along with the criteria for the workforce needed without having to place paid advertisements. Companies can register themselves at the website jobfair.malangkota.go.id.
After entering the workforce needs, the company will get recommendations for job seekers who fit their needs through the results of the soft skill assessment. After that, the company can carry out the further recruitment process. (ari/ram)
