Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – To ensure that the 2024 general election runs smoothly, the Malang City Government held a coordination meeting for regional working visits with the Deputy for Politics and Strategy, National Resilience Council (Wantanas) in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall, Tuesday (28/6/2022).
Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko said that this activity was in the framework of coordinating regional working meetings on the readiness of regional governments in East Java in the upcoming 2024 elections.
"This activity is an effort to create momentum for holding quality elections, especially in Malang City," explained Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname.
Bung Edi greatly appreciates this activity to create a quality election. Among them, related to the governance of the implementation of elections is a very fundamental thing in realizing a quality democracy.
The implementation of the election has indeed been delegated to the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), and the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) in accordance with the laws and regulations. The central government and regional governments, as well as the community, remain obliged to be responsible according to the capacity and authority they hold.
"Among other things, creating a conducive situation and condition, as well as active participation so that the election process runs well, smoothly, orderly, fairly and democratically and has high legitimacy," said Bung Edi.
Learning from the experience of the previous election, preparation is an important thing to be done by all related institutions, both by the organizers and the government. Election organizers need to prepare early so that the election is successful. Likewise with the government and the DPRD that finance it, so that it runs smoothly. (cah/ram)
