Handing Over Sacrificial Animals, Bung Edi Conveys the Meaning of Eid al-Adha

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – On Monday (11/07/2022) the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko handed over and slaughtered the sacrificial animals to the caretaker of the Great Jami' Mosque in Malang City which were then handed over to the caretaker of the Baiturrahim Mosque, Puri Cempaka Putih 1 Housing, Arjowinangun Village, Malang City. At this mosque, the Governor of East Java also handed over a cow to be slaughtered together.

The bespectacled man said that this was a form of gratitude to Allah SWT for the sustenance and health that had been bestowed upon his family. So that all family members could live in harmony and share with each other. "This is a form of our gratitude for the many blessings that we have received," he added.

The man who is often called Bung Edi said that there are many lessons and wisdom that can be taken and applied in everyday life from the commemoration of Eid al-Adha. "In addition to sharing, we are also tested regarding our sincerity and social piety, especially with fellow people who need a helping hand," he explained.

He gave an example, by sharing and working together to overcome a problem, then surely the problem will be resolved well and in a short time. "So be sure that what we do or what we give in charity will later bring a greater impact/reciprocity," said Bung Edi.

As social beings, he explained, one day we will definitely need the presence and help of others. So that mutual symbiosis in community life will definitely occur and can avoid this. "Let's help each other, as long as we are given the blessing of health and sufficient sustenance so that prosperity and harmony are created in our lives," said Bung Edi. (say/ram)
