Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Starting today, Tuesday (12/7/2022), the ranks of Correctional Institutions (Lapas) in East Java have started conducting a trial of direct or face-to-face visits for inmates. Including at the Sukun Class IIA Women's Prison, which was enthusiastically welcomed by the families of inmates at the prison.
Tri Anna Aryati as the Head of the Prison when met at her office said that this rule was enforced as the Covid-19 pandemic began to decline. However, various requirements must be met by both visitors and those being visited. Such as the nuclear family as indicated by the family card and ID card, must have received the third dose of the vaccine and a maximum of two visitors.
Every week, explained the woman in hijab, inmates can be visited twice with each visit lasting 30 minutes. These visits are divided into two sessions, namely on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning and afternoon. "Every day we limit a maximum of 40 inmates who are visited," added Anna.
For those who do not meet a number of the above requirements, Anna said, with the facilitation of the prison, the families of inmates are allowed virtually/online. "It is possible that this trial will be carried out for the next month and will later be evaluated, and it is possible that there will be new rules," she explained.
On the other hand, Wiwit, who is also one of the inmates of this prison, admitted that she was very happy about the implementation of this face-to-face visit. "I haven't been able to meet my parents and child in person for about two years. Because I haven't met for a long time, my child who is now three years old doesn't want to be carried. I have to coax her by buying ice cream for her to want to," she said. (say/ram)
