Bung Edi: IPM Ready to Produce Quality National Leaders

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko expressed his appreciation for the holding of the training for the middle cadres of the Melati III Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) of East Java which was held at campus 2 of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Thursday (14/7/2022).

According to him, from this training, it will also produce future leaders of the nation who are moral, qualified and highly competitive. The man who is often called Bung Edi said that in 2030 Indonesia will get a demographic bonus so that the quality and quality of young people must be prepared from now on.

According to him, this nation is and will need creative, innovative and communicative young people to increase global competitiveness. In this case, the presence and active role of educational institutions, especially universities, are very much needed.

Bung Edi gave an example, like a photo, these young people are the frame. So the frame must be made as good and attractive as possible so that the photo or image in the photo frame has a high selling value. "This is where the role of various parties, including the government and educational institutions, so that what is a common desire can be realized well," he added.

Furthermore, the bespectacled man said that the Malang City Government has made various efforts to produce future leaders of the nation who are competitive and who can open up employment opportunities as widely as possible. One of them is by building the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building on Jalan Ahmad Yani Utara. "On July 20, the MCC will be inaugurated and from this building many talented creators and innovators will be born," he explained.

"We are very proud of educational institutions or community elements if they are still intensive in providing training like what IPM East Java has done. If these young people have expertise and/or skills, in the midst of the era of information technology advancement like today, then it will be very easy to publish or even if you want to sell," explained Bung Edi.

A similar statement was also delivered by UMM Vice Rector III, Nur Subekti. According to him, as young people, we must continue to transform and follow the development of information technology. If not, we will be eroded by the progress of the times and will only become spectators in our own country. "Of course we don't want that, so various efforts are made by UMM, especially through this IPM," he explained. (say/ram)
