Trying the Legendary Tofu Egg in the Heart of Malang City

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – If you are walking around the Alun-Alun Merdeka Malang area, there is nothing wrong with stopping by the shopping corner on Jalan Merdeka Timur or right across from the square.

Cak Srupin's egg tofu

There you will find a simple stall always crowded with visitors who are queuing to enjoy the legendary egg tofu culinary. The name is Cak Srupin's egg tofu, which has been established since 1988 in the same location.

The stall itself is now managed by Cak Srupin's five sons together. According to Budi, Cak Srupin's second son, they try to maintain the quality of their food as when their father used to sell. "However, this quality is maintained because this is the struggle of our late father," he said.

In one day, Budi claims to be able to finish around 40 trays of tofu, which are used for various menus he sells. In addition to egg tofu, this stall also serves other menus such as spiced tofu. You can choose rice or lontong as a side dish. The lontong used is also produced directly so that the quality has been consistent since long ago.

Special peanut sauce will be poured over rice or lontong. For the level of spiciness of the sauce, you can ask according to your taste, from not spicy to very spicy.

Interestingly, the employees of this stall will swiftly memorize all your menu orders without writing them down. Just sit back, your order will be served directly according to what you requested previously.

For a portion of rice and tofu with egg, it is priced at Rp12.000,00. While for tofu lontong and tofu spices, it is only Rp9.000,00. In addition to selling on the spot, the menus from Cak Srupin's stall can also be ordered specially in large portions for big events such as parties, thanksgiving, and meetings.

The stall opens at 10.00:14.00 WIB. According to Budi, his merchandise usually runs out around XNUMX:XNUMX WIB. "At most around three in the afternoon we close, at the latest at five in the afternoon. Only during the fasting month do we open until the evening," he explained.

Budi also added that his shop is open almost every day. "If there is no urgent need, God willing, we are open every day. We are also open on Sundays and holidays," he concluded.

If you enter on a holiday, this stall will be more crowded with customers from out of town who deliberately stop by or by tourists who are playing in Alun-Alun Merdeka Malang. (ayu/ram)
