Mayor Sutiaji is grateful for God's grace that until today he has been given the opportunity to attend and participate in the commemoration of Independence Day. This activity was also combined with the provision of remission in 2022 for prisoners.

"The independence of the Indonesian nation is a blessing and gift from Almighty God that must be appreciated together. This sense of gratitude certainly belongs to all levels of society, including correctional inmates. Independence is not a sign that we are done fighting," explained Sutiaji.

Heroes have sacrificed their souls and bodies to win the nation's independence. So the task of the next generation is to fill independence, maintain unity and togetherness so that this nation remains strong and grows big.

In the vision of independence, of course, there will be several challenges. However, there are always strategies and implementations to realize a progressive Indonesia. Which is sovereign, independent and has a personality based on mutual cooperation.

Therefore, the government provides appreciation in the form of a reduction in the period of serving a sentence or what is commonly called remission. "The main goal of this coaching program is to prepare mental, spiritual and social provisions to be able to integrate healthily when returning to society. For all inmates who receive remission today, use this moment as a motivation to continue to behave well and obey the rules," he continued.

Continue to follow the coaching program diligently and sincerely, instill in your mind that the process you are going through now is not suffering. But a process of education and coaching to become a better and more dignified human being than in previous times.

Coinciding with the commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the government granted remission to 168.916 prisoners. Consisting of those who received general remission 166.191 people, received general remission two with immediate release as many as 2.725 people.
