Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji gave directions in the assistance of the East Java Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) at the Regent Hotel, Malang City, Monday (22/8/2022). This event was held in order to optimize the receipt of regional original income (PAD).

Mayor Sutiaji said that Malang City is currently like a beautiful girl who attracts many parties to get it. The many parties who want to invest in Malang City must be read carefully and maximize the potential of local revenue.
"We hope that through this activity we can provide many ideas that can provide benefits for the city of Malang," explained Sutiaji.
If we can utilize the potential of the region, it will further increase independence and no longer depend on the central government. In this case, of course, there is independence in terms of fiscal.
"The potential of the region's affairs has been regulated by the region. However, we are still asking the central government. The hope for Malang City, the 2023 APBD budget posture is 60 percent regional and 40 percent from the center," said Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, Head of Bapenda Malang City, Dr. Handi Priyanto, S.AP., M.Si revealed that Malang City is required to move towards fiscal independence. This means that Malang City's PAD is at least above 50 percent of the total APBD. So the region must strive to explore the potential to maximize revenue.
"Regions must explore the potential that exists to achieve fiscal independence. Because every year the name of the transfer fund decreases, while the cost of development continues to increase," said Handi.
The decrease in transfer funds from the center is accompanied by large spending, so inevitably regional innovation must emerge to maximize existing potential. "PAD besides taxes, there are levies. Today's activity is how we develop the potential of levies," said Handi. (cah/ram)
