Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) received a field study visit from participants in the 2022 Fiscal Year Supervisory Leadership Training from the Defense Management Education and Training Center, Education and Training Agency, Ministry of Defense in the Meeting Room of the Malang City Hall, Monday (22/8/2022).

In addition to transferring information and knowledge about public service management carried out by the Malang City Government, this visit also aims to find out the key or secret to the success of various regional development achievements that have been achieved by the City of Malang.
Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji revealed that the key to the success of Malang City Government is collaborative development involving hexahelix elements.
"Where we are now is no longer pentahelix. But it is already hexahelix (government, society, academics, business world, mass media, banking and financial services). So thank God the three major regional development awards have been obtained. The key is collaboration, it is impossible for us to implement it if we do not collaborate and it is impossible for us to collaborate if there is no transparency," he explained.
Furthermore, he explained what the Malang City Government did transparently from upstream to downstream. Starting from planning to implementation, it was done together including supervision. So that in building trust, transparent elements are part of it.
"Various programs are carried out by the Malang City Government in order to transform governance. Such as the implementation of thematic musrenbang, human resource management based on a merit system, an innovative bureaucratic ecosystem that continues to grow," he added.
In addition, digitalization of services and the implementation of regional government (smart governance) continues to be strengthened. Mastery and utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) are the keys to realizing a transformative bureaucracy as well as the foundation of Malang Smart City. Various innovations through digitalization such as online permits, online adminduk, monitoring of basic necessities, online job vacancies, online CCTV points, online complaints are expected to maximize public services.
Meanwhile, Head of Defense Management Education and Training Center of the Ministry of Defense Education and Training Center, Brigadier General TNI Dede Mulyana, S.Sos. M.Tr (Han) said that by seeing the real governance of the Malang City Government, he hopes that the field study participants can benefit from making fundamental changes in their institutions.
"Where the changes include a culture of change, organizational culture, increased supervision or control of the implementation of public services and others," he continued.
Malang City Government is the destination for field study visits in addition to its geography, climate, cultural traditions and interesting tourist destinations, because of its various achievements. Including the use of ICT to connect, monitor and control various resources in the city. So that it becomes more effective, efficient and can maximize services to its citizens in supporting sustainable development. (eka/ram)
