Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Efforts to accelerate the fulfillment of the National Child Immunization Month (BIAN) coverage target continue to be carried out by the Malang City Government. The strategy of immunization services through home visits or door to door is one of the options currently being implemented by the Malang City Health Office (Dinkes), health centers and various partner institutions to encourage achievements that have now reached 79 percent.

This was stated by the Head of the Malang City Health Office, dr. Husnul Muarif when met on the sidelines of the launch of the E-JKN Cekat application, Tuesday (23/8/2022). "Later it is expected that 95 percent will be reached by the end of August. We have recorded and coordinated which ones have not. So that later one home visit will be carried out," explained dr. Husnul.
In addition, his party will also take steps to gather target groups in places closest to where people live, such as in the RW or sub-district hall. This step is a follow-up to the results of the evaluation of the implementation of BIAN so far which found a number of issues such as working parents, obstacles to family events or sick children. So they cannot attend the posyandu according to the initial schedule that has been given.
Regarding the negative stigma that still exists that causes parents to be reluctant to include their children in immunization, Dr. Husnul is optimistic that the public will increase their awareness. Promotion, communication, and education are currently being carried out with the support of various stakeholders.
"Indeed, in some areas, we continue to educate with cadres and community leaders. Because this immunization is safe, free, and of high quality to prevent various diseases," he concluded. (ndu/ram)
