Tasting Nasi Buk Bu Tuni Which Has Been Present Since 1960

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Early in the morning at one corner of Jl. Kyai Tamin Malang, you can see a long line snaking. The line is a line of people who want to enjoy the legendary Buk Madura rice in Malang City.

This Nasi Buk is known as Nasi Buk Bu Tuni, which is located on Jl. Kyai Tamin right across from Toko Diva. At that location, you will not see any tent buildings installed. The merchandise is sold in a simple lesehan manner with several chairs provided for those who want to eat on the spot.

Although served simply, Nasi Buk remains a favorite of customers. It can be seen from the presence of customers who have gathered at the location, even when the merchandise is not yet available. Nasi Buk stall opens at around 06.00 WIB and will close near the time of Dhuhur. However, according to Tuni, the seller, his merchandise often sells out in just two hours.

Tuni serves Nasi Buk with several choices of side dishes, starting from the most typical, namely beef offal, empal, to fried chicken. The favorite in this stall is the empal side dish, the meat is cooked tenderly. The empal meat itself is easily removed when cut using a spoon.

In a plate of Nasi Buk, hot rice is served with young jackfruit vegetables, Madura's special chili sauce, selected side dishes, sweet dendeng crackers, and peyek, which are then sprinkled with savory serundeng on top. A portion of Nasi Buk is sold for Rp20.000.00 for all side dish choices.

Tuni admitted that in a day she usually prepares around 25 kg of rice and around 30 kg of meat and offal to be served. Having been selling since she was a teenager, Tuni tries to continue to maintain the quality of the taste of the business she inherited from her mother since 1960. (ayu/ram)
