Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji warmly welcomed the participants of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama Educational Institution (LPMNU) at the Mini Block Office of Malang City Hall, Friday (26/8/2022).
Mayor Sutiaji said that the presence of the LPMNU Rakernas participants at Malang City Hall was an honor for him. He hopes that through this Rakernas, the best ideas for a generation with character will emerge.
"In Malang City, education in the first and second grades of elementary school is not required to include reading, writing and arithmetic. But more on character building," said Sutiaji.
If the character is formed well, then children will grow and develop according to their potential. Children are like plants that have their own potential. When there are shortcomings, on the one hand there must be advantages.
"The community must think positively to educate children well. There should not be any bad thoughts at all. Because children have their own potential," he said.
The Head of LP Ma'arif NU, Prof. H. Ali Ramdhani said, the national working meeting held in Malang City was to realize and answer the problems that are currently developing. It is also to anticipate various problems and challenges of education in the future.
"Through this national working meeting, we hope to be a positive step in realizing the vision and mission of LP Ma'arif NU," he concluded.
