Efforts to Increase Community Literacy

Malang, (malangkota go.id) – Various steps have been taken by the Malang City Government in an effort to further educate the community and expand their knowledge or literacy, especially in the era of almost unstoppable advances in information technology. This time, the real step was by collaborating with residents of RW 11, Cemorokandang Village, Kedungkandang District.

Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko Signed the Inauguration of the Installation of Wifi in RW 11 Cemorokandang, Sunday (28/8/2022).

The agenda carried out on Sunday (28/8/2022) was the inauguration and addition of free internet networks in residential areas or public spaces. Until now, at least 550 wifi networks have been installed in residential areas, including in RW 11.

The wifi installed in the housing park will later be enjoyed by residents from 8 RTs or around 1.100 residents from 405 families. If residents can access the internet easily, they will not miss the latest information from all over the world.

Those were some of the things conveyed by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko after the inauguration of the event. He also hopes that in the future the public's knowledge will be wider, especially for students, so that they can increase their scientific literacy.

"On the other hand, because this internet network is installed in public facilities, it is hoped that it will further increase community relations, so that in the end it will create a conducive atmosphere," he added.

The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi added that this is a good innovation, for the togetherness, harmony and benefits of residents around the Omah View Housing. "The installation of this wifi is deliberately placed in a park or in an open space so that people are happier with a more natural atmosphere like this," he explained.

In the future, Bung Edi said, his party will continue to add internet networks in public spaces so that public knowledge and literacy continue to strengthen and programs like this are one form of government presence and concern for the community. (say/ram)
