Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) held a market operation to stabilize prices and ensure the supply of basic necessities and other commodities in front of the Londo Sukun Cemetery, Monday (29/8/2022).
The Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Perumda Tunas who is also a member of the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), Elfiatur Roikhah, SE., Ak., MM said that this market operation was a follow-up to the results of the 2022 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) on Inflation Control by President Jokowi regarding synergy for price stability and national food security.
"That's why we need to work harder to stabilize prices and ensure supply. Therefore, the Malang City TPID Secretariat is holding market operations," explained Elfi.
Elfi further explained that this market operation activity was the first in Sukun Village. The number of goods provided was around 1.000 packages ranging from rice, granulated sugar, packaged cooking oil, wheat flour, chicken eggs, chicken meat, chilies to shallots. His party collaborated with various parties, such as State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Perum Bulog, Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) Perumda Tunas, National Food Agency, Bank Indonesia, and others.
"Later, it will be done in rotation every week until the inflation condition can be more stable. It is targeted that by the end of the year there will be 63 points. So what we sell in addition to staple foods are also commodities whose prices, although not increasing, are still high, for example onions and chilies," he explained.
Elfi added that the target of this market operation is to meet the needs of the community and ensure a safe supply. So that after sufficient supply for the community, it is hoped that prices can return to stability.
This is in line with the commitment of the Malang City Government as conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji when attending the National Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control that his party has collaborated with various regions.
"In accordance with the president's recommendation, in the regions inflation control will be carried out immediately, namely by carrying out cooperation between regions. We have established cooperation with Banyuwangi, Malang Regency, Blitar, Batu, and Jakarta. So that the hope is that it can control inflation in Malang City," he said some time ago. (eka/ram)
