Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Through their works, as many as 124 visual artists from various regions in East Java and Yogyakarta invite all levels of society to reconstruct the occurrence and impact of various natural and non-natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, wars and the Covid-19 pandemic.

From the various disasters, of course, there will be a bad impact and from this exhibition it is hoped that the community will be aware so that their lives will be better in the future. Various messages are implied in a painting exhibition at the Malang City Arts Council (DKM) building led by Studio Dinding Luar (SDL).
The exhibition held from September 3-12 showcased 255 paintings of various styles. From the exhibition that carries the theme of mini art malang and titled paint it black, it becomes a means of conveying critical messages and artists' concern for others.
This was conveyed by Akhmadi Budi Santoso as the curator and person in charge of the exhibition after the opening of the event on Saturday (3/9/2022) evening. This exhibition also received appreciation from the chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of East Java, Dwi Cahyono.
He admitted that he would later bridge these fine art artists when they would hold exhibitions in hotels in East Java. Even from these works, as much as possible, they could fill the ornaments in a number of hotels and restaurants spread across East Java. "Thus, the space for expression and the economy of the artists will be significantly boosted," explained Dwi.
From the exhibition of paintings that each measure 50×40 cm, he hopes to contribute to creating a healthier society. From the strokes of this artist's hand, the public can hear the suffering and tragedy, so that every human being can take real action to heal the wounds.
"No less important, building awareness to care about disasters and preventing disasters from happening. Hopefully the various messages conveyed by these artists are in accordance with their hopes, so that society cares more about the environment and each other," concluded Dwi. (say/ram)
