Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic starting to subside and be controlled, various community activities in several areas have begun to be relaxed, including in Malang City. This is one of the factors underlying the Malang Tahes Club (MTC) to hold a group cycling sport or fun bike on Saturday (10/9/2022).

Departing from the yard of Malang City Hall, this event was attended by 1.200 participants from various elements of society such as ASN, businessmen, TNI, communities and residents. Participants walked along several roads in Malang City such as Jalan Basuki Rahmad, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Ijen and finished at Jalan Veteran.
After participating in the cycling and gymnastics event together, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji gave his appreciation to the organizers. The reason is, in addition to the large number of participants, it also involved small business actors or MSMEs so that the community's economy also moved. "From this activity, the community will be healthy economically and physically. When the Covid-19 pandemic is under control like it is now, everyone must move and rise from adversity," he invited.
Furthermore, the bespectacled man said, although this nation is currently grieving because of the increase in fuel prices, food security and other life security are still in a fairly optimistic condition or are well maintained. So that in the future how economic mobility from day to day is strengthened and MSME spending is increased.
"One of them is today's activity which can be one of the milestones on how to strengthen the economy at the regional level to the central level. Let's be enthusiastic and instill high optimism so that what we hope for can be realized well," said Sutiaji.
A similar statement was made by the Commander of the 2nd Kostrad Infantry Division, Major General TNI Syafrial after cycling with Mayor Sutiaji. According to him, with unity and moving together, in accordance with the theme of the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the people's economy will recover faster and rise stronger. "All levels of society should always be optimistic so that people's lives are no longer haunted by pandemics or any other outbreaks in the future," he said.
“For the past few years, our activities have been limited due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but now it has started to return to normal. From this condition, we hope that economic activities will also grow well. Of course, this series will run in harmony because the more people do activities outside, the economy will also grow. This is our hope and the most important thing is that we are all healthy,” he explained.
From the cycling sport together which is also in order to enliven the Indonesian Independence Day, it is also expected to further strengthen the ties of friendship. Especially between Malang City Government officials, TNI ranks, entrepreneurs, communities and the general public. (say/ram)
