Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) is realizing the plan to reactivate the arrangement of overhead cables or known as the Rebo Rapi initiative by targeting the Jalan Kawi location, Wednesday (14/9/2022).
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji directly participated in the activity which was attended by 10 telecommunications service providers in Malang City.
"(Rebo Rapi) we reactivate in order to maintain the aesthetics of the city. We already have a coordination group with the provider, so if they don't come today we will disconnect them," said Sutiaji.
The Rebo Rapi initiative was first initiated in 2019 as part of a short-term strategy to prioritize collaboration in handling the issue of messy utility cables in a number of areas of Malang City.
This initiative, which runs routinely every Wednesday before the pandemic, has succeeded in reaching dozens of roads such as Jalan Borobudur and Soekarno Hatta.
In the future, Sutiaji explained that Rebo Rapi will continue to be developed and in parallel, cable arrangement regulations will also be prepared.
"Later we will combine it with the pruning of tree branches that are prone to falling. Moreover, the rainy season is coming soon as anticipation. We are also preparing regulations," he added.
Also present at the Rebo Rapi event were the Head of the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), Head of the Government Section, Head of the Procurement Service Section, the Sub-district Head and Polsekta Klojen, the ranks of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP), Satpol PP, Dishub, and local area elements.
