Sleman Regency Government Studies to Imitate Malang City's PAD Increase

Malang, (malangkota.go.id – The Sleman Regency Government, Yogyakarta conducted a study tour on increasing local revenue (PAD) to Malang City, Friday (16/9/2022). The group was led by the Deputy Regent of Sleman, Danang Maharsa and received by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji.

Mayor Sutiaji said, when he and Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko led Malang City, many things have been and will be done to increase PAD Malang City. According to him, in order for PAD to be increased, one way is for regional apparatus to provide exposure and integrity pact.

"We asked all regional apparatuses to present so that the competence of ASN who will explore PAD can be seen," said Sutiaji.

In addition, his party also enforces rewards and punishments to the relevant regional apparatus. The aim is to ensure that performance remains a priority in increasing PAD.

In 2018, PAD of Malang City was only Rp380 billion. Then an integrity pact was signed with the head of the regional apparatus and a revenue target of Rp1,2 trillion was set. The accumulation of all tax sectors was Rp1,5 trillion.

Sutiaji also said that Malang City is not large. Its population is only 900 thousand people and 500 thousand students. "During the day, the population can reach 2 million people. Because many people from outside Malang work in Malang City," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of Sleman, Danang Maharsa said that his party deliberately brought the group to Malang City to learn about how to increase PAD. The Deputy Regent of Sleman brought 160 people in the group, consisting of 16 panewu (sub-district heads), 80 danarto (Kaur Kelurahan), and the Regional Finance and Asset Agency (BKAD).

"We want to study in Malang City, gain knowledge to bring to Sleman Regency," he concluded. (cah/ram)
