Malang City Government Cooperates with Pertamina to Provide Non-Subsidized LPG in Market Operations

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government is again holding a Market Operation to control inflation. This time, the market operation was held in Polehan Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, Friday (23/9/2022).

The Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Perumda Tunas who is also a member of the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), Elfiatur Roikhah, SE., Ak., MM said that this market operation was a movement of the Malang City Government together with TPID as a follow-up to the President's mandate at the 2022 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) for Inflation Control regarding synergy for price stability and national food security.

Elfi further said that the market operation aims to control prices. Some of the commodities marketed are medium rice, premium rice, wheat flour, granulated sugar, shallots, chicken eggs, cooking oil, beef, and chicken. "This time we provide around 500 kg for commodities such as chicken, beef, eggs. Almost the same amount for other commodities. For rice, we provide more. More or less the target can be around 1.000 (people)," said Elfi

Elfi said, in this market operation, it was also supported by Pertamina which provided a supply of 3 kg LPG and non-subsidized LPG Bright Gas. In addition, the exchange of 3 kg LPG gas cylinders to Bright was also facilitated. "We urge the community, especially ASN to use the 12 kg ones. So this time we are facilitating the exchange too," he said.

In the future, his party will hold 60 more market operations until December 2022. "We will rotate to all sub-districts. We have 63 market operations. The first one was in Sukun, then yesterday at GOR Ken Arok, then here," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Sumiyati, a resident of Polehan Village, said that she was very enthusiastic about shopping during this market operation. "Thank you for holding a market operation here. I can buy some basic necessities at cheaper prices. Hopefully it can be done more often because it is very beneficial, especially now," she said. (ari/ram)
