Malang, malangkota.go.id – Brawijaya University initiated the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Exhibition entitled UMKM Vaganza 2022. The event, which was held on September 27-28, 2022 at Samatha Krida, Brawijaya University, was attended by around 80 tenants consisting of culinary and non-culinary such as crafts, fashion, to property and books.
Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko who attended and opened the event greatly appreciated this activity. According to him, this is a form of synergy and collaboration between the government, universities through alumni cooperatives, business actors, and banking.
"This is a concrete example of synergy and collaboration to strengthen the economy, especially MSMEs. The government is present with free certification services, free legality, helping business actors have legality and formal permits. Banking is present to facilitate entry into the digital world. Academics with their expertise contribute to quality and competitiveness," he said, Tuesday (27/12/2022).
Furthermore, the bespectacled man said that the government has also tried to revive the people's business. One of the policies taken is that the provision of food and drink in the city government environment is entrusted to MSME actors.
"In addition, it also helps marketing. So the government works together with the private sector including the marketplace, we can help MSMEs to market their products better. In addition to the application, also through the activities of the Malang City Government must be followed by small business exhibitions. Including providing opportunities at the Malang Creative Center (MCC), including in the markets that we have in Malang City," he said.
Bung Edi said that this activity was carried out at the right time, where the government is also reviving and strengthening the economy and suppressing the rate of inflation. "I think if everyone cares about the problems of MSMEs, it will be an extraordinary strengthening," he concluded.
The event initiated by the Brawijaya University Umbrella Business Cooperative aims to raise the spirit of developing and increasing the value of products in UMKM and startups. This development is supported by UMKM Vaganza through a free coaching clinic that provides licensing management and consultation services in collaboration with Diskopindag, product clinical trial services, and business consultations.
