Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Commemorating National Batik Day on October 2, 2022, Malang City initiated a MURI record-breaking for splash batik making by 594 people with disabilities.

The activity will be held on Sunday (2/10/2022) at the Tugu Square in Malang City starting at 07.00 WIB. In addition to breaking the MURI record, the results of this splash batik will also be auctioned. In addition to commemorating National Batik Day, this splash batik activity was also carried out to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the TNI and also World Mental Health Day.
Dandim Malang City, Lieutenant Colonel Kav. Heru Wibowo Sofa as the head of the committee said that preparations for holding this event had reached 95 percent. He conveyed this after holding a final preparation meeting with the entire committee at the Malang City Police Headquarters, Wednesday (28/9/2022).
"(This activity) is a form of concern from the three pillars, Malang City Government, Malang City Police, and Malang City Military District Command 0833. As a form of our response, our recognition of equality with our colleagues with disabilities," said Heru.
Although held in Malang City, Heru said that the committee also collaborated with disabled people from all over Malang Raya and its surroundings, such as Blitar and Pasuruan to participate in this activity. These disabled people will paint splash batik on a 500-meter long cloth. The committee will also facilitate the transportation and accommodation needs of the participants.
Heru explained that a tutorial on how to apply splash batik was held on Sunday (25/9/2022) yesterday for the assistants and Liaison Officers (LO) at Makodim 0833. "There were around 200 people to accommodate and accompany colleagues with disabilities in carrying out the splash batik," he continued.
This activity is also a form of collaboration between the Malang City Government, Kodim 0833, Malang Police, Malang City DPRD, BPJS Employment, and Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Mental Hospital (RSJRW). (ari/ram)
