Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji along with the Chairman of the Malang City DPRD, I Made Riandiana Kartika, Deputy Regent of Malang, Drs. Didik Gatot Subroto accompanied the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.AP together with the Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Basarah and the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, in the handover of compensation to the heirs of victims of social disasters at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Monday (3/10/2022). Compensation was handed over to the heirs at the Lowokwaru District Office and the Klojen District Office.
Coordinating Minister for PMK, Muhadjir expressed his deep condolences and hoped that the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy was the last incident, and that the bereaved families would be patient and sincere. The Coordinating Minister also conveyed that in accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, in addition to accelerating the investigation, it is necessary to accelerate mitigation, namely accelerating the provision of social assistance for the families of the victims, especially the victims who are the backbone of the family.
In line with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini expressed her condolences for the death of the victim and hoped that the victim's family would remain strong and steadfast. Risma also said that this compensation was not a replacement, but proof of attention and empathy as well as friendship from the government to the victim's family.
Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Basarah also expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and also expressed his gratitude for the attention of the central government and regional governments who had been very responsive in handling the aftermath of the humanitarian tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji said that the Malang City Government has created an assistance scheme including compensation, trauma healing, and other assistance. The form of focus of assistance is adjusted to the needs of the victims' families, according to the direction of the Coordinating Minister for PMK, there should not be new poor families, especially victims who are the backbone of the family.
"We from the Malang City Government will always be there for the people of Malang City, especially for the families of the victims of the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy," said Sutiaji.
According to him, the humanitarian tragedy has become a serious concern for the Malang City Government, even the central government. Because in Malang City there has never been a humanitarian tragedy like this. He hopes that the tragedy will not happen again. (tin/ram)
