Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – On the fourth day after the Kanjuruhan tragedy, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo visited Malang City, Wednesday (5/10/2022).

Jokowi directly greeted and conveyed his empathy to the heirs of the deceased victims. After that, he immediately visited the injured patients who were being treated at Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital in Malang City.
Jokowi said that the central and regional governments would cover the medical costs of the victims. "I want to make sure that those who are treated in this hospital get good service," he said.
On that occasion, Jokowi also spoke with a number of victims to gather information regarding the situation when the tragedy occurred at Kanjuruhan Stadium, last Saturday (1/10/2022).
Jokowi hopes that this case can be resolved as soon as possible, a maximum of 1 month. "I really want to know the root of this tragedy so that in the future we can get the best solution and we know that an Independent Joint Fact-Finding Team has been formed, chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs," he said.
Furthermore, Jokowi said that to anticipate this from happening again, his party requested a total audit of all stadiums, especially those used as match venues for all Leagues 1, 2, and 3. He did not want this incident to happen again in the future, therefore, eligibility and security really need to be considered. Including how it is managed. Jokowi also said that FIFA can also help in organizing its governance.
After visiting the injured victims and the families of the deceased victims, Jokowi immediately inspected the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang Regency. During his working visit, Jokowi was accompanied directly by the Chief of Police, General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy; Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainuddin Amali; Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa; Commander of the V/Brawijaya Military Command, Major General TNI Nurchahyanto; East Java Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Nico Afinta; and the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji.
