Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In the midst of the economic recovery, the Malang City Government continues to tighten the gas pedal to improve the community's economy. This time through the UMKM bazaar led by residents of Jalan Kelapa Sawit RW 8, Pisang Candi Village, Sukun District. This biennial activity labeled 'Kelapa Sawit Expo Center' involves 220 UMKM actors from various businesses, such as culinary and various crafts.

Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko after opening the event on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 gave a positive appreciation. According to him, village-based events like this will contribute greatly to boosting the economy. "Especially after the Covid-19 pandemic begins to be controlled and the economy begins to climb, activities like this must continue to be intensified," he said.
In addition, the bespectacled man explained, this bazaar is also an effective way to stem the rate of inflation after the fuel price adjustment some time ago. "With togetherness and moving together to rise, in a short time the wheels of the economy will turn on their axis again," added the man who is also often called Bung Edi.
"This is a series of community activities for economic recovery and I think the strengthening of the economy that is moving will certainly help the government to be able to suppress the rate of inflation. Because why, because the community brings out its potential, its products and are purchased directly by the community at a very affordable price," he explained.
No less important, said Deputy Mayor Edi, Malang City as a city of education with hundreds of thousands of students is a potential market share. Especially for various culinary delights, it will definitely be much sought after and a bazaar like this also has great prospects.
