Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko invited the younger generation to visit museums to strengthen their identity through history and the nation's noble values. He conveyed this when opening the Museum Festive Vaganza (MFV) event at the MPU Purwa Museum, Thursday (13/10/2022).

Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi's nickname, appreciates the Museum Festive Vaganza (MFV) which is an arts and culture festival. MFV carries three main concepts, namely Art Performance, Competition
Vaganza, and Immersive Experience were initiated by the Department of Education and Culture of Malang City.
"Thank you all, this activity is simple but feels meaningful and runs solemnly. What we need to do now is how our children can be happy, can ask what is in this museum. So that children do not lose their identity, understand the history of their nation. That their ancestors were a great nation, a nation with character, a nation with great ideals," he explained.
MFV 2022 carries the theme "Museums Inspire Across Generations to Advance the Nation with Its High Potential" which represents three main values in this event, namely, identity, exploration, and Indonesia. Bung Edi hopes that schools, especially parents in the field of history, will invite children to come to the museum. So that the love for museums and the history of the nation and its ancestors can grow even more.
"Not only the MPU Purwa Museum, there is also an education museum, a music museum, I think this will foster a refined soul, which is beautiful, full of love but has high values and art. This is what will make our nation have character, be able to work hard, know its ancestors and history, be optimistic about the future but not lose its identity," he added.
Furthermore, Bung Edi advised all stakeholders to unite to build a sense of love for children's museums. So the hope is that children can achieve more, have good intellectual strength, good spiritual and emotional strength and have an identity.
"It's okay to have high dreams but don't lose your identity as an Indonesian nation. Works, innovations and creativity will grow and flow along with the development of the times, today we see the extraordinary young generation with their potential, let's maintain this great asset together so that in the future Malang will be increasingly known and loved by the community, especially in Indonesia and the world," said Bung Edi.
The Museum Festive Vaganza (MFV) will be held from 13-16 October 2022 simultaneously at the MPU Purwa Museum and the Malang City Education Museum. Various interesting activities are presented in the event, ranging from musical performances to various competitions such as elementary school band competitions, elementary and junior high school quiz competitions, painting competitions, journalism competitions and vlogging competitions.
"The tragedy of October 1 at Kanjuruhan Stadium made all parties feel sadness and grief, let us face the future, prepare for the future with achievements, creativity and optimism to rise again," said Bung Edi. (eka/ram)
