Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Head of the Health Service (Dinkes) of Malang City, dr. Husnul Muarif said that based on information from RSSA, there are currently nine children diagnosed with acute kidney failure. However, not all of these numbers are from Malang City considering that RSSA is a referral hospital owned by the Province of East Java.

"In RSSA from August to October, cases were found. There were three from Malang, four from Blitar, one from Pasuruan, and one from Sidoarjo. Based on age, five children were under six years old and four children were over six years old," explained Husnul, Thursday (20/10/2022).
Detection efforts by the Malang City Health Office were carried out by referring to the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health which was conveyed to all health facilities in Malang City. The circular explained the protocols that must be carried out in handling this disease.
"After the circular is distributed, God willing, friends will distribute the letter to all health facilities. We will evaluate the follow-up two or three days later," said Husnul.
Husnul emphasized that all health facilities in Malang City must be prepared for the disease that attacks many children. "That's why this circular must be distributed first, if it has been socialized then how to provide education to the community. If there are symptoms according to those in the circular. Then this reference is clear in RSSA," he explained.
As an effort to anticipate acute kidney failure in children, the Health Office appealed to the public to be vigilant but not panic. The public is expected to be able to get used to Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and temporarily stop consuming drugs in syrup preparations. In addition, the public is asked to be more sensitive to the condition of children and immediately if symptoms occur immediately take them to health facilities. (ari/ram)
