Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji welcomed the arrival of Indonesian Public Relations practitioners at a gala dinner held at the Mini Block Office Building, Malang City Hall, Wednesday (26/10/2022).
The gala dinner itself is the opening event in the series of Indonesian Public Relations Awards held on 26-28 October 2022 in Malang City.
In his speech, Sutiaji expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Humas Indonesia for entrusting Malang City as the host for the series of Anugerah Humas Indonesia events.
Sutiaji also assured all parties that the current situation and conditions in Malang have returned to being conducive after the tragedy that occurred early last month. According to him, with the incident that has occurred, the people of Malang City are now able to respond wisely, especially in terms of conveying aspirations where everything takes place in an orderly and peaceful manner.
"Malang has matured in responding to the tragedy. God willing, this will also be a material for introspection for all of us, how the SOP and the organization of an event will be carried out later. So I am sure that Malang is conducive," he said.
Sutiaji also expressed his gratitude especially to Humas Indonesia, which has given appreciation to Indonesian PR practitioners, especially government institution PR practitioners. According to him, the role of public relations is important especially as a mouthpiece in conveying government policies to the public.
"I hope and I am sure that through this public relations information can be channeled well. Because if there is information stagnation, there can also be policy stagnation," he added.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Humas Indonesia, Asmono Wikan revealed that the series of events for the Anugerah Humas Indonesia event itself focused on the theme of Public Information Disclosure. He considered that the issue of public information disclosure was important for government institutions, so that later the public could give their trust to the policies issued.
The series of events of the Indonesian Public Relations Award itself is planned to be closed with a peak event, namely the awarding night for public relations practitioners, attended by around 300 invited guests from various institutions throughout Indonesia. (ayu/ram)
